Your membership helps TBUG work to improve infrastructure, safety and participation for ALL bike riders – recreational, commuter and serious road riders.
TBUG membership costs only $20 per year or $44 for families of up to 3 members.
Your membership either directly though us or via Bicycle Network helps keep TBUG running and continue our advocacy work.

There are two options for joining TBUG
Pick the membership which suits you best.
The Basic Membership allows you to:
- Support TBUG’s advocacy, promotions, and website.
- Access member benefits.
However, this option does not include ride insurance coverage.
Your TBUG Family Membership supports TBUG, provides you with our news emails and other member benefits but does not provide ride insurance. We strongly encourage you to take out insurance and you can get three months free trial coverage via Bicycle Network. Checkout the Membership with Bicycle Network Ride Insurance below for details. You can still ride with us without insurance but will need to sign a disclaimer to absolve TBUG of any liability in the unlikely event of an accident.
You can pay via Direct Deposit Details: BSB: 633-000 Acc: 137590626 Account Name Tamar Bicycle Users Group.

Important:
While you are welcome to ride with us without insurance, you must sign a disclaimer to absolve TBUG of liability in the unlikely event of an accident. If you’d like insurance coverage, consider joining TBUG through Bicycle Network (see Membership with Bicycle Network Ride Insurance below) or another organization such as AusCycling or the Launceston Mountain Bike Club.
For comprehensive 24/7 ride insurance coverage, you can join TBUG through Bicycle Network. This option includes:
- Full TBUG membership.
- Coverage for any cycling-related incidents, whether you’re riding with TBUG or on your own.
Bicycle Network Membership Options:
- Various membership plans are available, including concession and family memberships.
- If you’re unsure, take advantage of their free three-month trial insurance for TBUG riders, which allows you to decide later.
This provides you with the benefits of membership in both organisations. Helping your local cycling advocacy, state cycling advocacy and giving you riders Insurance at the same time.
This gives you all the benefits of both organisations and TBUG still receives a share of your membership to help us with our local advocacy work. It’s a win-win for both organisations.
If you need help or have questions please call Bicycle Network on 1800 639 634.
What is Bicycle Network
Bicycle Network is Australia’s largest cycling advocacy organisation, working nationally to make riding safer, easier and more accessible for people of all ages. In Tasmania, Bicycle Network supports local cycling communities through advocacy, research, education and collaboration with governments to improve cycling infrastructure and policy.
TBUG has partnered with Bicycle Network for a number of years. During this time, Bicycle Network has provided advice and guidance, insurance, and support for our local advocacy work — particularly in engagement with local and state governments.
Taking out membership with Bicycle Network and TBUG at the same time enables both organisations to benefit and grow, helping us continue this valuable work for the Tasmanian cycling community.
